Job description

An exciting opportunity to join our business as General Manager in our Ipswich Venue.

We are a growing independent business with venues in Ipswich and Colchester. Our venues are known for their vibrant atmosphere, huge range of quality beers and a passionate focus on smoked barbecue meats and burgers. Our venues hosts a large range of events, functions and live music performances throughout. We also house a thriving basement gin bar and a restaurant floor.

We are looking for a General Manager who is passionate with a love of the industry and can lead a team of 30+ ensuring excellent customer service is delivered.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Achieve strong gross profit margins through valuable training and ongoing staff management
  • Ensure revenue growth by running a great venue, working closely with our promotions team and implementing exciting new events
  • Maintain labour costs by creating affective schedules
  • Support and work with the management team for the purpose of improving the running of the venue and upkeep of the building
  • Guarantee all aspects of Health and Safety, Licensing and Food Safety are adhered to
  • Recruiting, training, and developing staff members
  • Conduct performance reviews and one to one’s for team members
  • Be at the forefront of staff motivation and morale
  • Liaising with suppliers and contractors
  • Daily accounting duties
  • Dealing with customer enquiries and bookings

 

What we are looking for

  • Management minimum 3 years’ experience
  • Positive personality who can build an instant rapport with customers and team members.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-starter and good self-manager
  • Good organisational skills

 

Additional Information

As part of the Management Team, you will be expected to work five out of seven days, the hours will be mainly evenings and weekends and it will be in a fast-paced environment.

Beverage Manager

Salary: £24,000.00 – £26,000.00 per year

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Beverage Manager to join our management team at Three Wise Monkeys Ipswich.

We are a growing independent business with venues in Ipswich and Colchester. Our venues are known for their vibrant atmosphere, huge range of quality beers and a passionate focus on smoked barbecue meats and burgers using local produce at the heart of everything we do. We have an excellent reputation for hosting Taster Evenings, as well as private functions and corporate team days. We also house a thriving basement gin bar and a restaurant floor.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Creating and maintaining a beverage program suited to the venue’s unique selling points, market trends and existing supplier agreements
  • Work closely with the promotions team to highlight exciting new products
  • Assist in creating effective staff schedules
  • Support a strong gross profit margin with disciplined stock control and ordering
  • Host taster evenings and work closely with the kitchen to develop food and beverage pairings
  • Develop and manage staff training that enhances the beverage program
  • Support the general manager with the purpose of improving the running of the venue and upkeep of the building
  • Follow all aspects of health and safety and licensing conditions
  • Undertake daily accounting duties that help ensure the security of all money in and money out of the venue
  • Deal with customer enquiries and bookings
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors

 

Qualities and experience that you will have:

  • Beverage Management minimum 2 years’ experience
  • A strong motivator and team leader
  • Passion, enthusiasm and interest in craft beer
  • The highest attention to detail
  • Have excellent organisational skills with clear, distinct briefing and delegation skills

Food is served throughout the day with a focus on slow-cooked, smoked American barbeque-style food and gourmet burgers using local produce at the heart of everything we do. We have an excellent reputation for hosting Taster Evenings every month on our restaurant floor, as well as private functions and corporate team days.

We are looking for a restaurant manager with a positive personality who can build an instant rapport with our customers and lead the team to deliver exceptional standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assist the General Manager in achieving strong gross profit margins through valuable training and ongoing staff management.
  • Ensure revenue growth by running an efficient restaurant and working closely with our full-time promotions team.
  • Assist the General Manager in maintaining labour costs by creating effective schedules.
  • Manage reservations and customers enquires
  • Support and work with the management team for the purpose of improving the running of the restaurant and upkeep of the buildings.
  • Knowledgeable on all allergens and current food handling and safety regulations.

Chef de Partie

Salary: £10 per hour

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Chef de Partie to join our team in Three Wise Monkeys Ipswich.

The right candidates will ideally have experience working in a fresh produce kitchen, work well under pressure, be very consistent and possess excellent communication skills. A passion and enthusiasm for BBQ foods would be a bonus.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes.
  • Helping the sous chef and head chef to develop new dishes and menus.
  • Training junior staff members.
  • Ensuring you and your team have high standards of food hygiene.
  • Adhere to Health, Hygiene & Safety Act regulations.
  • Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
  • Liaising with suppliers.
  • Checking deliveries for quality

 

Must be available to work weekends and evenings.

Candidate must be 18 years or above.
